He did omit a photo of a rather dodgy looking character doing something strange with what appear to be glasses of green eyeballs. Some new spell? Eye of newt?
Adriana Posted - 07 August 2007 : 11:26:39
Mike's just put up some of the photos Neil from Symi Dream took on Saturday night.
Adriana Posted - 06 August 2007 : 14:03:20
It went extremely well, Richard. We had over a hundred people all told and another fifty the following night.

Mike Gadd will be putting up the pictures on Out and About as soon as we can peel him off the beach.

The O Filos meatballs went down well too!

The exhibition will be open every evening from 8-10 pm but anyone who wants a private viewing can contact the Symi Visitor office.

So how did the evening go, Adriana? I was looking forward to a report.

Ummm......not really my style I have to admit...I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say.
Jerry Posted - 06 August 2007 : 09:42:35
Missed out on the meatballs, and the opening, what a pity.
Adriana Posted - 04 August 2007 : 06:32:11
It will come as no surprise that we will be serving meatballs at the opening tonight

I have found my copy of Spoerri's book on Symi, "Mythogical Travels", after a bit of a search. Some very interesting recipes, especially that in his chapter on keftedes:

"When the blood rises to our head, we redden, when it leaves it we faint and when we cook it we get pudding".

I googled him too, Mille. the word "eccentric" springs
to mind...
I wonder why he gave up his obviously Jewish ancestry for what
looks like an Italian surname.
Maybe all will be revealed in the July SV...
Mille Posted - 19 July 2007 : 10:21:40
I did a Google on him, and that it some very uhm.. different art style!
But nevertheless very interesting!
Adriana Posted - 19 July 2007 : 10:20:38
Nope. It's the vaults below so it is all stone and rough beams.
Richard Posted - 19 July 2007 : 09:54:14
We look forward to seeing the new Visitor Centre. Does the room have the same decorative ceilings as your office, Adriana?
Adriana Posted - 19 July 2007 : 06:27:54
Ah ha, Geoff. You obviously haven't received the July edition of the Symi Visitor yet. Spoerri is a fascinating character, now in his 80s, who looks at life from some very curious perspectives. It's worth doing a Google on him.

C'mon Mike...a little bit more info, please.
