well here is an update of my first day working in the hotel industry well i arrived at 5pm like i was as to by the manager well needless to say like last time i was misslead he didnt arrive till past half past so i ended up being trained by a co-worker for near hlf hour.
i can pull a pint off bitter right away lager seems to defeate me at the moment.

anyway im learnig fast i am doing two different types of jobs at 6pm im the person who delivers the drinks you order off the waiters and about 7.30 im then behind the bar
i got 65p tip today one generous elderly gentleman giving me 50p lol

oh i must tell you its the 1920s theme at the castle today so we have been working in quite a warm room wearing white ties white braces and plastic gangster style hat and the entertainment was a band who did 1920s music and dances.

also i was really amazed by some of the people on holiday when the bands had breaks they would all get up and tango and waltz etc

overall a great day im shattered sorry if i bore anyone and ill update tommorrow and ill be on chat on tuesday im on closes till then so ill miss you all anyway must try sleep busy again tomorrow
speak soon XXXXXXXXXXXX

Where are you working, Sarah? It sounds like a Butlins type joint.
You know "elderly gentlemen pressing a few pence into your palm & folk doing tango & waltzes when the band has a break!!"
Sounds a real fun place, keep us up to date..

If this message causes confusion, my work here is done.

Glad it's going well, Sarah. Don't spend all your tips at once. I am slightly worried about the standard of dress. No gentleman would wear a white tie before 7pm, dammit.

I'm delighted to hear that you can already manage the really important bit, pulling a pint. We look forward to hearing from you on Tuesday evening.

In Greece, time is merely an idea in the mind of God.

well today went better still 1920's theme weekend so basicly lots of shall i say older ldys dressed up with the headbands and feathers

ohhhhh an one man today really made me laugh he over heard another holiday maker talking about putting his white tuxedo and black dickie bow on for the evening and went into a rant about private schooled people i mainly laughed as i had served the the gentleman in a tux his wine at dinner not an hour before the other mans rant.

there was another band in today better than the previous one again lots of people dancing even we the bar staff did as it got very quiet during the show we even attempted the charleston but we just got confused lol

im still learnig but ill be an expert by friday i think the till is set up kinda confusing so thats all that i need to get to grips with.

OG i work for warner hotels its adults only holidays here in the uk but i think they are owned by Bourne Leasure who own butlins and other companys

I think I get the gist, Sarah.
Sort of like Margaret Rutherford coming into dinner on Robert Morley's arm..
You may find yourself a Sugar Daddy....

Hi Sarah, your new job sounds like a real hoot and it sounds like you are getting to grips with things very quickly.

Good to hear you are polishing up on your dancing skills ready for the September dancing spree although I don't think there's much call for the charleston at the Harani bar...never mind it's all about developing your rhythm and building up your stamina. (Please OG don't drag that last statement down to the gutter )

Do keep us posted on how things are going.

Yesterday is experience, tomorrow is hope... today is getting from one to the other.

Glad to hear about your job, it sounds fun! Save the tips and they will soon add up, and you'll enjoy spending them in Symi!

Experience suggests it doesn't matter so much how you got here, as what you do after you arrive.

Keep going honey and it sounds as if you are having a ball, or two!

Yes, your feet will get used to it. But you should try a bowl of warm water and mustard powder.

Mix the mustard powder with a little water until you have a paste, then add as much water as you want.

Used to work wonders for me!
