Yes, we woke up to the news on the BBC this morning - they didn't cover any other news.

It is sad - I was never a fan of his especially after all the allegations against him - but he was a talented songwriter and performer.
It is sad for his 3 children who are left behind - lets hope they continue to be protected against the media as Michael did. I do fear now though it may be wide open for them.
I had the Farrah Fawcett hairstyle when I was younger and thought I was the bees knees.
RIP these 2 legends x x |

I was shocked to read about Farah Fawcett passing away, such a beautiful lady.... but the news about Michael Jackson took several moments to sink in...in fact my initial thoughts were that my mind was playing tricks on me.
I loved his music, he was one of the greatest influences on modern music although his later stuff never seemed to quite match the brilliance of his earlier material.
He was a troubled soul and whether the allegations against him were truly genuine, I guess we will never really know. Whilst it's easy to say there's no smoke without fire, I'm also aware that there are no shortage of devious minded people out there in the world. I guess at least he will be at peace now although whether the same can be said for his poor children, remains to be seen. |

| I'm going to be shot down in flames for this but was a special BBC news bulletin really necessary? Always sad when anyone dies, especially at the relatively young age of 50 but for heavens sake, the world isn't going to end. The TV pictures of of all the weeping and wailing in the streets just made me think that there are some very sad,sad people! |

Not often we agree Kojak. The radio has been full of it. They even interviewed the UK president of the fan club. The guy was close to tears. Whatever, we must remember that MJ was a very, very "fragile" human being. |

| Whilst a massive talent, we are the same age and his music is the kind I grew up with, he was a flawed character. However as is the English way...........What's the difference between Alex Fergusson & Michael Jackson? Fergie will playing Giggs in August! |

Whilst you or I for that matter may not think so, I think it probably was....it's no different to the passing of Lady Di, Elvis Presley, John Lennon, JFK, Martin Luther King, Pope John Paul, Queen Mum etc.
Their death and coverage of it may not be top of our particular list of priorities but each and every one of those individuals obviously had a profound effect on a lot of people and it's not really for us to determine what that impact on others should be except that these are all people who have lived in the public eye and therefore inevitably there will be folks who will be interested to hear the news, unfortunately the media being what it is we can be sure it will be flogged to the hilt.
I personally think that grief is a private matter and so find the public spectacle of weeping and wailing somewhat undignified but then as the saying goes, there but by the grace of God go I, it's certainly not for me to dictate to someone else how they chose to show theirs. |

Our evening news was full of it (the Tehran problem was way down the list). It showed his children, the one hung over the balcony in Berlin was white, as are the other two. No matter how cosmetically Michael was "done over" his sperm would contain all the Negro genes. Ooops, "Afro-American". Sorry. Makes one wonder, eh? |

| Nope, sorry OG, don't get that one at all. The only people likely to worry about the colour of children are moronic scum such as Nick Griffin and your own dear Pauline Hanson. Just think of the proginy of those two - they could put the human race back 100,000 years! |

Working in the NHS I'm privileged to work with people from all different backgrounds and cultures and I love it....wouldn't have it any other way....
If I really like someone it doesn't matter a flying fig about their origins/genes....shame MJ was so affected by it but then I never had to live in his skin to know or understand how he felt. |

| yes I also thought his children are a bit too white for him, their features are'nt like his ,after all he was black, goodness knows what he did to get himself white. But I loved his music, I loved his style, and loved his dancing,He was brilliant unique entertainer, there'll never be another like him |

Who can whistle a Michael Jackson tune? As for his children, who wants to inherit his genes? The "innocence" is best assessed by his over $20 million to the parents of one of his liitle pals. But, yes he could perform and nobody will forget the moon walk. I recall when my late wife drew my attention to a performance on TV. I watched with fascination and then asked her: "What is it?" I could not detect whether "it" was male or female. Mind you, his sex was fully displayed when he wore his jock strap outside his pants and clutched his crotch. Now for all the conspiracy gang to start up rumours about how he was poisoned, secretly strangled, a secret CIA operative or an African "mole". Just watch folks. You ain't seen nuthin' yet He might even be seen in your local mall - or even in Waitrose. After all, there are regular "sightings of his late father-in-law Elvis. |

Jon, in no way was I "having a go" at his race. I just pointed out that his children are, or appear to be, white. That is a biological impossibility if MJ is indeed the father. No matter how pale he became surgically, his progeny would be much, much darker than they are.
I have the same thoughts as you on Griffen & his BNP & our Pauline with her One Nation. She should have stuck to serving fish'n'chips. |
