Neil is in Rhodes hospital and will undergo surgery on his ankle on Friday to pin together the broken bones.

There's someone who won't forget Jean's last night in a hurry!

We all wish him a speedy recovery.

Aw, Neil!

That's what you get from dancing on bars late at night *school mistress voice off*

The photo of Neil leaving Jean's Bar on a trolley was interesting. No silly jokes, please.

The latest news is that Neil's operation tomorrow will involve inserting both internal and external pins into his shattered heel and he's likely to be in hospital for at least a week.

Just as well he hung on to the crutches from the last time he bashed his foot!

Hope you will get well and home soon, Neil. At least you don't have to dive for the cross in the (as I see it) icecold water. best wishes to you and Toby.

If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping in a closed room with a mosquito

You can't help thinking there's a bit of a theme going on here!

More by luck than judgement that some of us didn't up the same way coming down the so called Lazy Steps in September!

Best wishes for a speedy recovery Neil.....I'll be thinking of you....and yes we will miss your lovely photos so please no lazing around in that hospital bed for too long.

Back home now, so more time to spend on the pc. Best wishes to Neil - I've emailed the Symidream site to suggest that it would be safer doing the Palais Glide at ground level...

It is a very entertaining description of poor Neil's treatment on Toby's Blog. They both seem to have kept their sense of humour. We look forward to the next episode with interest as well as sympathy. Next chapter in the revised edition of Symi 85600?

Just got a text from Toby describing Neil's leg as having "scaffolding". Conjures up visions of doctors in overalls nailing second hand lumps of wood on his leg, Symi-builder fashion!

I've got some Meccano in my wrist, but that's small fry compared to poor Neil. Good job he doesn't have to fly home - the airport scanner would have a field day

Good luck Neil with the operation. Lots of arnica and essential lavendar oil, once you have your braces in place. x
