We really enjoyed our stay in Symi in early September and would dearly love to repeat the process. But - there always is one - we did find accomodation separate from meals a bit prohibitive price wise . Euro to the pound isn't going to get easier. Any suggestions how we can repeat a fabulous holiday but a bit cheaper?? ~We all prefer self catering. Chorio was great but down in Yalios would be good too - as long as it is reasonably quiet - not late to bed we crew.

Taxiarchis Apartments up in Chorio is a good option and its owner (who calls himself Frank and speaks excellent English, although he is actually Greek) is an excellent host. All apartments are self-catering so no problem there.
I think you can book through Olympic, though personally I always book direct (taxiarchis@rho.forthnet.gr) |

Cheers Anthony. Will give that a go. Wind howling and rain lashing here so booking a Symi for next year is warming. |

Looks like some of that howling and lashing stuff is heading our way for the weekend... |

At this stage, I should perhaps have given you the reference to the Taxiarchis website, rather than the e-mail address. http://www.taxiarchishotel.gr/symi.htm |

But Adriana, howling and lashing in Snoopy2's native city is unlike anything Symi has experienced. I was there on January 30, 1953. The recorded wind speed at the Airport was 129 m.p.h. - the great gale then moved south, flooded the Thames and Canvey Island, then arrived in Holland on February 2, where it drowned 3,000 people. Now that's howling and lashing. |

| Most of Norfolk disappeared as well. I'm doing a bit of howling as well since my PC died yesterday and I am in the middle of setting up a new one. |

| We didn't notice any flooding in north west Durham in 1953. Mind you, if the flooding had reached that far inland then most of the UK would have disappeared! Best of luck with the new pc, Richard. |
