Temperature showing 30 degrees but weather forecasts seem to indicate temperatures lower. Is it really that hot out there still? Looking foward to ariving on Wednesday.

It can be, Buzzy. The weather is very variable (like ours is) and can be hot during the day. Take a cardigan though because it may be cooler at night.

Well as somone who has never been anywhere hot in the cooler months of the UK I can't get my head around going from my home with my central heating on to summer temperatures. I know lots of people do it all the time but it's my first time. At this time of year I'm usually taking breaks in the UK or maybe Ireland. It's a real treat to get a last taste of summer before the winter sets in back home. I have visions of returning to the UK (clocks having gone back) to pitch dark and cold temperatures.

I have no doubt that vision will come to fruition. Like the Muller Rice advert - first the pleasure, then the pain. No doubt we'll have to pay for the Indian summer we've just had but at least you can stretch it out a little longer on Symi. Don't make the mistake of getting off the return flight in shorts and flip flops!

It was indeed 30 degrees on Symi yesterday afternoon.

Looks like I'll be shedding the layers on the way out and coming back like an eskimo. It always seems to be freezing and foggy by guyfawkes over here.

I suppose those dreaded mosquitos must be still out in force then? I'll have to hose hubby down with repellant. Just don't tell them he is coming or they'll all be lined up on the harbour licking their lips.
