For those who really haven't seen a Symi Spider, here's a photo of one, slightly less than actual size, that I took late one night in my accomodation about two weeks ago

I saw it twice - one night half way up (down? ) the wall above my bed. I decided to move the bed a few inches away from the wall, and by the time I had done this he had disapperared. The next night, when this photo was taken, he was on the wall outside the bathroom door.
If anybody has decided as a result of this thread that they don't really want to go to Symi after all, let me know and I'm sure I'll be able to offer a very reasonable price for the unwanted tickets.

| Ah, it's only a baby. I'm glad you took care of it. |

Please, please, please do remember that whilst folks here are having a great deal of fun scaring the hell out of us poor folk who do actually have a problem dealing with these creatures , they are not in any way dangerous .
So please don't let it put you off a trip to Symi because it would be a great shame to miss out on the experience simply because you think you may, but in reality probably may not, bump into one of them. I've never seen one, well not a live one anyway . |

Hey, I thought that some ladies might be attracted by a creature with eight hairy legs! What about some computer whiz putting some Kojak style pink knickers on the little beauty in Anthony's pic |

| The only time I've ever been associated with pink knickers was in my early launderette, away from home days when a red T shirt inadvertantly got mixed up with a white wash - and that's given far too much information away already!... |

Here you are. I've given it a quick go but I'm not au fait with current spider knicker styles:

I THINK the poor little thing is wearing them on the right end. |

.....At the risk of sounding very coarse, poor thing looks like it's wearing crotchless knickers!!!!
I suppose a thong would be a little difficult though ! |

I think that poor little spider has got his (her?) knickers in a twist! Quite apart from the matter of 3 legged knickers (though having 8 legs a spider could be understood if it chose to wear four-legged ones rather than two-legged), the private bits that knickers are supposed to cover are surely around that little tit thingy stcking out at the rear
That said, I confess I'm not very well up in spider anatomy (perhaps I should have picked up that Symi Spider after photographing it and studied it more carefully) - so perhaps I'm the one with my (proverbial) knickers in a twist. |
