| I think its fair enough to point out the fact that there are big hairy boys on the island. If I had a fear of them I would be glad if someone pointed out the possibility of meeting one in the bedroom. Whats to put folks off ? Symi has faults as well as many many lovely sides. |

| I'm really terrified of spiders, but while on my hols I indulge in a few nightcaps and I just don't care, just flop into bed quite happily, don't even give them a second thought. |

I have unfortunately had the misfortune of meeting one of these big hairy boys in the street once and if I was to meet one in my room or indeed residing on my pillow then I would hope that Symi has a defibrillator at hand, but have found this thread very amusing and it certainly would not put me off going to Symi. I fully understand people being terrified of spiders, but please don't let us to go back to days of old on this site when we were scared to breath let alone write anything tongue in cheek.

Mrs McS - we'd have given you the kiss of life ... but the ouzo fumes would have probably finished you off! |

Well, well, well, it is amazing how a bit of banter can be taken seriously. Now we all understand Little Miss Muffet. I loved the spider wearing the pink knickers, but what about adding some of Kojak's fabulous s.o.c.k.s. |

Ah, thats better...Good on yer Sorella, big hairy boys in bedrooms, that pushes those pesky little spiders into the dark recesses,eh? See, even Mrs.McS perked up & has regaled us with fantasies of lying in bed crying for a vibr...oops, defibrillator... in a room full of big hairy boys... Good to see there's life in the old girl yet... |

Butcha still love me, eh Sorella?
The whole thread is a bit tongue in cheek. Mazie telling of the SOS from her neighbours & finding them clutching each other in the middle of the bed. They weren't too scared to make a phone call & probably open a door...or is that just my suspicious mind? Spiders are here for a purpose, if you want to be swatting at mozzies all day & night & being over-run by flies, then by all means kill every spider you see. Just don't kill my spiders!! Silly people... |

After being married to Findlay for 24+ years a room full of big hairy boys seems quite appealing, but don't tell him I said that |

No it's you taking the narrow view as usual Geoff . I don't need to resort to telling lies or making up stories, you get found out when you do that, you should now that .
What I didn't include was the fact that she was a very big woman , the bed dipped badly in the middle and her poors kids were struggling to try and stay on their feet....as I said, for me quite a comical sight but for them a different story . Despite their plight I didn't resort to murdering the poor spider since it was definitely out-classed .
I also didn't tell you about the time I was bitten by one and needed antibiotics or the time I was teasing a big hairy b****r until it lept 10 inches vertically into the air...I ran screaming from the office much to the amusement of my work colleagues . I can laugh about it now but at the time I could have done with a paramedic .
Good news for me, the firing squad have just left, they decided my crime earlier this week didn't warrant being being lined up against a wall and shot...thank heavens for that. I promised to keep my mouth shut from now on but they said if I wasn't careful they'd consider sending the thought police round... mmmmm...wonder what uniforms they wear !

I think the chances of seeing one are very slim Sarah.
The only thing I'd object to is sharing a bed with one...fraid I'd have to draw the line there....I like my own space with nothing beside me to tickle in the night ! |
