Here in the middle of a million people, our city centre is plagued by the jaybird's relative, the bloody magpie They stay here year around whereas most of our birds are migratory. But, when the song birds arrive in the spring, the bloody magpies pursue them, destroy their nests and eat their eggs So, the sooner somebody shoots 'em the better |

Yes, it was indeed said by Atticus Finch (Greg. Peck).
If you haven't seen he film, hire it, its well worth it.
The author, as Mille said, is accredited to Harper Lee, but there are suspicions that the author was her friend, Truman Capote. |
