Another wonderful week in Symi almost at an end and of course the big decision – where to eat tonight. We should be well practiced in this regard as it is part of the daily ritual when lying on the beach. Will it be -

Giorgios in Chorio and a wonderful mezes of prawns in filo, spinach and rice, artichokes, courgette flowers stuffed with cheese; and stuffed mushrooms or

Zylygos and Lemonia's fantastic stuffed aubergine with the sweetest onions; briam; Symi lamb with lemon potatoes and mousaka (and the most excellent complimentary custard baklava) or

Dimitris (by the harbourside) and his excellent (and very reasonably priced) fish or

Vasilis (just over the bridge at the harbour) and the best cooked pizza an pasta that we have found anywhere or

Meraklis and his fabulous Beetroot & Skadalia; Meatballs in Tomato Sauce; Beans Gigantes; and Tuna Salad

but it has to be

Zoe and hope that the stifados is on the menu

Yes! To our great delight Zoe's is open. We were there last week and Zoe told us of the problems she has had with her arm following a bad fall. In spite of a long course of treatment and physiotherapy, she still has her arm strapped and has taken on someone to help with food preparation.

Another change in the village - the 'green door baker' is now the 'brown door baker'after a recent coat of new paint!

Don't forget Friday evenings at Georgios, I understand there is a treat in store with certain a musician putting in an appearance to entertain you all

Yesterday is experience, tomorrow is hope... today is getting from one to the other.

Yes, Maz, who might that musician be??? The sound is certainly loud enough to be heard whilst sitting in the Rainbow.

In Greece, time is merely an idea in the mind of God.

My favourites are still the Trata and Mythos although Syllogos is the best restaurant in the Chorio.

Waitrose like Mythos as well. HERE but it is a little too expensive for me to eat there every night.

Eleanor, don't get too friendly with a certain guitar player at Giorgios or you might find a vengeful Mazie waiting for you on your return!

Anyone caught flirting with that rather gorgeous 'love god' had better start running very fast.....if not from me, from his girlfriend (unfortunately not me)....but feel free to window shop....in my view, the best looking Greek man on Symi!

It's in Chorio.

Walk up past the Rainbow, Lefteris', Syllogos and the two A's. Zoe's is a bit further up on your left just before the supermarket.

While you're in Chorio don't forget to call in at the Olive Tree for cake.
