Just got our tickets! In less than four weeks we'll be there - and I can't wait. It's our first visit to Symi and it comes highly recommended. I just hope our apartment is ok. We once had a serious disappointment (never travelled with the company again).

| Morgana - you lucky toad - i have to wait until September before i get to Symi. If the forum contributors are anything to go by you will have a great time and i just know it in my bones that Eleanor is right - no matter where you are staying you will enjoy Symi - i just think it gets under your skin. Been there just once with my two offspring and we can't wait to get back!! |

You will spend very little time in the accomodation so be prepared to do alot of walking and sight seeing. Symi far too beautiful to stay indoors in summer.Enjoy your stay Morgana |

| I've travelled with Olympic for several years, Morgana. I've just come back from Symi. The Olympic rep this year is Ian, who is a very good rep. Where are you staying in Symi? |

Morgana,
We have stayed in many different places in Symi over the years and have never been disappointed. What always amazes us is how different a visit can be depending on where we are located - if in Yialos it takes us an age to get to Chorio with all the stops along the way to prevent any possible dehydration before we jump on the bus or into a taxi (what being located at Nos in October will be like is very exciting). When in Chorio we hardly ever make it beyond Giorgios, Zyllygos or Zoes three restaurants that you really should try. But be careful - like so many others there is a great danger that you will fall in love with Symi. Have a wonderful time. |

| Thanks for all the replies. We are staying at the Anastasia up in Chorio. I don't expect to spend much time in the apartment but do like to have a decent balcony for ouzo and olives (post beach/pre dinner!) We've got a one bedroomed apartment there so if anyone has any info I will be very grateful. I'm resisting the temptation to start counting days 'til my first Mythos! It sounds as if there is a lot to explore which is brilliant. It's amazing how much you see when you are on foot. |

| I stayed at the Anastasia several years ago when it was let by the owners, Sammy the Taxi and his wife Anastasia. Sammy's son now drives the taxi. His daughter Zoe, has a taverna in Chorio called, Zoes of course. You are just a short walk from the centre of Chorio with shops bars etc. and you have a nice view across the Pedi valley You are two tiers above the Pedi road, a short walk from the bus stop and supermarket and taxis stop outside the village Hotel which is a couple of minutes walk away. |

Kojak is spot on as usual. We stayed there last year and nothing has changed - the views down to Pedi are stunning. There is a set of 4 rooms with a shared balcony on one level (but not crowded at all) and 2 or 3 rooms above with private balconies all with a wonderful panorama from Pedi round to Chorio. A morning chat with "Sammy" as he sets off for his farm can be most educational and his command of some fruity English sayings is a joy - he spent many years in Australia !! We are sure you will report back on how you find things - enjoy.

Hi Eleanor Just come back from 2 weeks - ready for our next 1 week in September - hope fully we will meet you one day - we are friends of Collete - we were pictured in the Daily Mirro on Sat 4.07.09 in Symi the only two times we went to the harbour during the day and I happen to be blowing my nose on the pic - how bad is that |
