After the great success of the inaugural exhibition by Symi resident Haycox, Paul Sanderson is now exhibiting his 'North Light' collection from the 11th of September to the 6th of October. The open evening last Friday was a big success, and underlines the need for Symi to have a permanent gallery for artists and creatives.
The website will soon be updated with photo galleries, and of course there will be updates on the symi-photos.com site, as well as here. We also have a Facebook group to help popularise the gallery and reach as many artists AND visitors to Symi as possible. We already have many artists interested in showing their work, and if you are an artist yourself, we want to hear from you.

Hi Jord,
I spent a week with your favourite (ex ) Symi rep recently and I now have 2 examples of her artwork - one from this year and one from 1999, get her to exhibit when she gets back in October( if you can forgive her not turning up for the wedding)
back for a week on thursday so hope to see you

Wee Jimmy dug deep and bought a fab painting for our dining room. What a wonderful place for a gallery. We were delighted to support this enterprise.quote:

Thanks all for the support.
Tomorrow night is the opening of 'Another Day on Earth' by Danish artist Jytte Loehr. I think we're going to get a good turn out for this one as Jytte is well known, and has exhibited all over the world. It all starts at 7.30pm, and wine, retsina, refreshments are all part of the welcome. If you're on Symi, pop in.
Lots planned for the rest of the year, and many bookings for 2010. Info will follow. As before, if you're an artist, sculpture, photographer, creative, get in touch with us. |
