Hilsner fra Norge! - or, Greetings from Norway! I've only been here one day and already I speaka da lingo!  Spent today in Tonberg, which is the oldest town in Norway. This is very apt as I'm often called the oldest git in the world! Dined out tonight with mine host, Ola and made casual acquaintance with the official Norwegian Santa Claus (photoshoot tomorrow) and on the other table was a Norwegian television star. Tomorrow we go to Oslo for a personal guided tour. We may drop in to see King Harald V (born 21 February 1937) if we have time.

A busy day yesterday. I called in to see Father Christmas and of course, took some photos. Then we went off to Oslo where I had a very nice guided tour courtesy of a friend of Ola. We dropped in on the Royal Palace where the King was preparing for a state dinner for the new Norwegian Government. He wanted us to stay for dinner but I declined as we'd already done the shopping for our own dinner... He very kindly arranged to have the guard changed for us while we were there. An early night last night as the night before we did some serious damage to a large bottle of gin followed by one or two glasses of Acquavit  |
