Ah ha, Geoff. You obviously haven't received the July edition of the Symi Visitor yet. Spoerri is a fascinating character, now in his 80s, who looks at life from some very curious perspectives. It's worth doing a Google on him.

We look forward to seeing the new Visitor Centre. Does the room have the same decorative ceilings as your office, Adriana?

I googled him too, Mille. the word "eccentric" springs
to mind...
I wonder why he gave up his obviously Jewish ancestry for what
looks like an Italian surname.
Maybe all will be revealed in the July SV...

I have found my copy of Spoerri's book on Symi, "Mythogical Travels", after a bit of a search. Some very interesting recipes, especially that in his chapter on keftedes:

"When the blood rises to our head, we redden, when it leaves it we faint and when we cook it we get pudding".

In Greece, time is merely an idea in the mind of God.

It will come as no surprise that we will be serving meatballs at the opening tonight

Missed out on the meatballs, and the opening, what a pity.

Ummm......not really my style I have to admit...I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say.

Yesterday is experience, tomorrow is hope... today is getting from one to the other.

It went extremely well, Richard. We had over a hundred people all told and another fifty the following night.

Mike Gadd will be putting up the pictures on Out and About as soon as we can peel him off the beach.

The O Filos meatballs went down well too!

The exhibition will be open every evening from 8-10 pm but anyone who wants a private viewing can contact the Symi Visitor office.

He did omit a photo of a rather dodgy looking character doing something strange with what appear to be glasses of green eyeballs. Some new spell? Eye of newt?
