Hi Folks the replacement webcam is in and running

A few changes. firstly this is a fixed iris camera so brightness is controlled by software rather than hardware. if that was all technospeak to you don't worry, it just means the camera can't react to as great a range of light and dark as the old one. We'll just have to see how it handles the difference between dawn/dusk and the midday sun.

Aslo it's a fixed focal length so no zoom, sorry but at least this one's in focus

Lets hope it handles the winter better than the old one handled the summer.
The original camera is heading back to blighty for a spot of "rehabiltiation"

Enjoy

Glen

Thank you, Glen

And thank you Moderator Allan for providing the new camera

Good job it wasn't as clear earlier this week, I'd have been caught on camera in the wee small hours

Yesterday is experience, tomorrow is hope... today is getting from one to the other.

Great pictures and much clearer than before. As Mazie said, it's a good job it wasn't operating before. There could have been some embarrassing early hours photos! I'm just thankful there isn't a cam scanning the other side of the harbour...
