Congratulations to all concerned. Grandchildren are OK because you can give them back, of course. Is he being brought up on Mythos?

In Greece, time is merely an idea in the mind of God.

Congratulations Eleanor! Don't laugh about the ouzo . An old Greek sleeping remedy was to dunk the baby's dummy in some ouzo!!!!

And then drink the rest of the bottle yourself? That'll guarantee a good night's sleep.

Congratulations Eleanor - you make a very glamorous granny!

I thought the newborn baby got a tea spoon full of ouzo and that the granny would sleep under the bed to keep "the evil" away??

Congratulations on the grandson, Eleanor

Congrats - I know how it felt the first grandchild is always special we were in the USA at the Grand Canyon (with a native Indian) who once we had found out Matthew had been born dedicated the sunset to him - which was so special. As too being tiny I think it is not a bad weight (by my standards)- both mine were very tiny 4.9 and 2.2 both prems and they are bigger and stronger than me now with families of their own.

My eldest was 9 weeks prem and weighed in at 3lb 10oz and the youngest although only 2 weeks early at 5lb 5oz....both are now strapping young men and I love them dearly even though they drive me nuts with their bickering .

I do hope Poppet and I's stories give you encouragement Eleanor.....and as Allan says, you are a rather glamourous granny....I'm sure Alfie will love to show you off when he's a little older .
